Todd Lippiatt is Chief Investment Strategist for ReedsBay. A voting member of the Investment Committee and an equity partner, Mr. Lippiatt brings chief executive and founder experience within other boutique principal investment firms specializing in real estate investment strategy to ReedsBay, as well as an extensive track record across a variety of distinct markets investing in several CRE credit and credit-like products. A problem solver at heart, Mr. Lippiatt’s solution-oriented approach places him at the forefront of the growing momentum around enhancing CRE transaction efficiencies. Mr. Lippiatt provides the firm with best-in-class servicing & asset management capabilities that attract quality investment partners and project sponsors alike. Over several investment cycles, his approach has demonstrated his ability to meet investor expectations and to return principal consistently, regardless of exogenous factors.
In addition to his work with ReedsBay, Mr. Lippiatt is active in digital asset management & tokenization, running practical asset management sandbox implementations of theoretical digital income strategies. He also does strategic and macroeconomic advisory work through his firm FutureFin.co and recently architected a BNPL & art lending platform among other ventures for a SME while managing its treasury.
Mr. Lippiatt was Managing Partner of Aristone Realty Capital, a private real estate lender that originated over $400 million in structured credit investments, which he founded in 2006. He was also CEO and Founder of Propellr, a DTC investment platform, digital merchant bank, and broker-dealer providing direct access to alternative investment opportunities. The platform has the distinction of being first to market in tokenizing a regulated real estate offering in Manhattan in 2018; Mr. Lippiatt’s white paper on the methodology continues to be frequently cited and has been incorporated into university curricula.
Prior to Aristone & Propellr, Mr. Lippiatt worked at Morgan Stanley as Head of Adjustable Rate Mortgage Trading, as well as Credit Suisse & DLJ.
Mr. Lippiatt completed graduate level coursework in Biochemistry from Columbia University and holds Bachelor’s degrees in Economics, Philosophy, and Computer Science from Brown University.
