Steven is the founder and Chairman of Beltraith Capital. Over the past 30 years Steven has been fine-tuning his skills in the investment industry. He and several prominent entrepreneurs in Philadelphia formed Beltraith Capital in 2008 to execute his vision to provide solution-driven investment strategies through minority owned and operated investment management firms. Beltraith’s owned and incubated entities, Stoneridge Investment Partners, Stoneridge PMGA and Emstone, have a combined total AUM of $2 Billion as of 9/30/20.

In 2009, Beltraith made its first acquisition, Stoneridge Investment Partners LLC, followed by its purchase of PMGA (now StoneridgePMGA) and creation of Emstone in 2015. As CEO and Chief Investment strategist of each firm, Mr. Sanders provides macro-economic analysis, designs investment products, and drives client engagement.

Prior to forming Beltraith, from 2006-2009, Mr. Sanders served as Chief Investment Strategist at Creative Financial Group Asset Management. While there, Mr. Sanders developed and co-managed the firm’s absolute return, macro-economic thematic investment strategy and served as Chairman & CEO of First Genesis Financial Group. From 1996-2005, Mr. Sanders served as President and equity portfolio manager of an emerging institutional equity and fixed income money management firm and was instrumental in growing the firm’s AUM from $60 million to $4.6 Billion within 8 years. Prior to that, Mr. Sanders co-founded Hunt & Sanders Investment Advisers where he designed investment strategies for high net worth and institutional clients from 1986-1996.

Mr. Sanders is a frequent speaker at investment conferences and has provided economic and financial market commentary to national and local television networks such as CNBC, Bloomberg, CNN, ABC World News, Fox TV, and CN8’s Money Matters Today. From 2007-2014, he co-hosted and co-produced Financial Voices; a weekly financial and economic awareness program which aired on 900AM WURD Radio in Philadelphia and broadcast internationally via the web. Mr. Sanders has served as a spokesperson for Citibank Master Card and Visa’s national financial education program and authored a booklet about the virtues of investing, saving and spending wisely, “Money Matters for Young Adults”. Mr. Sanders serves as a member of the board of To Our Children’s Future With Health and has served as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, The Philadelphia Foundation (Chair of the Investment Committee) and United Bank of Philadelphia.

Mr. Sanders holds a B.B.A. in Risk Management from Howard University.
